Tried sending an email to my real email address with one of those trash mail online things and it went straight to spam filter so that isn’t an option.

My personal experience is that of you think it through, the more security the less privacy. You need back up email because sometimes updates log you out, you just connected to yourself? 2FA? You just connected to yourself.
When I got this phone a year ago because my other phone was stolen, I realized that I could make new accounts of I made new emails since I'm a phone user, and there wouldn't be a router on file. But, it's not worth it. There are programs to run your comments through that check writing style, and key words. There are programs that track your comment habits such as time of day, and quantity.
If you're looking for no phone number, you need to make sure that's your only criteria or you'll end up with an issue down the line.
Why no phone number? Is it an internet phone issue? My kids have to use my number due to mint mobile numbers not working, which means I say a whole lot of dumb shit I never heard of, and my interests are a whole lot of 20's men interests I never heard of. I see no ads. Yesterday I used my youngest sons phone, he see ads for things targeted to his mother.
Edit : look up self hosting issues. That's done intentionally.

2FA can be done with e.g., Authy (vs sms or other)
Sms is back to phone numbers. TextNow is blocking the codes for that unless you pay with non pre paid credit card, which goes right back to not a private option.
That's why I said it's important to pay attention to what your actual needs are. No one wants to deal with a problem at every step.
I was saying not to use SMS (use Authy instead)
What do you think of it? Because it's a middleman which is just bad for privacy / security. Don't forget, I've admitted that my kids have to use my phone number. I have had to think about what this means.
