I’m not sure why it does this sometimes. I tried to open a proton mail and got this same link. I didn’t wanna do that so abandoned it. Came back later and it didn’t ask me. Opened it without any issues. And did another one at a later date also without having to provide a verification email.
The hard part is not having your private email server marked as an untrusted spam generator by the major email relays. You will never know which of your emails just get black holed.
And of course there is the never ending war against incoming spam. I gave up fighting these battles years ago.
Yeah I started using simple login email aliases and I don’t think I’ve had an issue with them being black holed but it is hard to tell sometimes. I figure if it’s important I’ll notice it’s missing and if not, it’s no big loss.
Yeah I always use a vpn and I run nextdns dns filter. I was using both when it asked and also when it didn’t ask. Not sure if I was on the same vpn server or not
I’m using adguard vpn right now. It’s tough to know who to trust but also my threat level is low and I have it mainly for privacy from my isp. If you’re trying to hide from the govt or something then I’m sure you’re gonna need something more than a basic off the shelf vpn

We're you using vpn? Many services don't ask unless you're behind something like that.

Curious what VPN you were using. Israel is buying up all the major vpns (surfshark, nord, express). I wouldnt trust any VPN
