Court rules automakers can record and intercept owner text messages
A Seattle-based appellate judge ruled that the practice does not meet the threshold for an illegal privacy violation under state law, handing a big win to automakers Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and General Motors.
your phone is compromised anyway. Don't connect it to anything that can kill you.
Not quite. I had my phone stolen in December, and due to people telling me they called and texted me I called at&t. They were able to tell me over the phone that yes I should have had notification when I put my sim cars in the new phone. However, by law they could only read me what they saw. They needed me to get an attorney to subpoena a physical copy.
I am also very curious how this middle man issue makes carriers feel. There's a HUGE difference in carrier licked devices, and unlocked devices. Think about it like this... If it's carrier locked you are not the administrator of that device. This also makes me wonder how companies with proprietary IP is going to take this.
This shit is so fucked!
