Yea, I learned this when I first got on message boards.
I have to admit that it’s more humble than the people who want to share Jesus Christ, our lord and savior with you, but only bc it’s something they can virtue signal about in church next Wednesday night, or Sunday morning.
I have always been disgusted by that, and I am a Christian. If they can’t look at me and think “I want to know what makes this person tick,” then I must be doing something wrong- because I’m not living it. They should be asking me, not me preaching to them.
There’s a reason they go to Africa and Central America….. because the people here would rather stay destitute than have to listen to some virtue signaling narcissist build their fantasy story for the next time they meet with their friends.
I know that’s rough, but it truly is something the church has to face.
While I understand your sentiment, it is disobedient of Jesus' command to Christians:
"He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. "
Mark 15:16
We are most definitely expected to use words and tell the people we know about Jesus. After all, it is good news! That is the literal meaning of the word "gospel". It is on them if they reject Jesus.
