Most Christians believe Jesus Christ is God.
How does Jesus sit beside Himself?
Can someone help explain to me this trinity concept? Jesus prays to his father which is really himself?
The Jesus of the New Testament acts and behaves very differently than the god of the Old Testament.
The god of the old testament was a jealous God that commanded blood sacrifices, genocide, racism, tribalism, arranged marriage, child sacrifice (story of Abraham and his son), slavery, death to sodomites, etc.
Then the New testament God doesn't kill a single person, preaches pacifism, tells his people to be persecuted and take it like a beaten wife, sacrifices himself to himself, does not deliver justice on to the world but only promises justice and fairness after we are already dead.
Elohim refers to the pre-jewish polytheistic religious tradition, where "El" is "the Most High" and Elohim are his children. The Elohim are each assigned a deity portfolio and a human race. Yahweh was one of them, the god of jews and the forge. He's evolved into the god of forgery and counterfeiting. Everything from his race is suspect, including all abrahamic religions.
Yahweh didn't become top God in the jewish mind until much later, like 1000 b.c. Since then, Yahweh has coveted the Top God position, and has continually attempted to seize that position in the minds of men. He's even attempted to take credit for Creation - both scapegoating and stealing credit are in the "counterfeiting/forgery" portfolio.
Both jews and christians deal with their negative karma/sin through methods of scapegoating and escaping responsibility. That's shitty moral fiber.
"Most Christians believe Jesus Christ is God" - this is false, this is what non christians who pretend they are Christian say that your falling prey too. JESUS IS NOT GOD>he is the son
I got this one.
Religion is a substitute for Reality. In order to create a religious mind, the group must convince an individual to believe the nonsensical, such as 3 = 1, or nuclear war on earth 10 billion years ago.
It's essential that it cannot be rationally understood or investigated. It's not enough to make unobservable assumptions, it has to be mock-worthy nonsense. Once an individual adopts such a belief, they're in the group. It's their membership card.
Having accepted absurdity as fact, they no longer have a healthy filter for belief in Reality. More nonsensical ideas can be jammed in the hole that's been torn in their cognition, and more importantly, false ideas. "Authority said so" has become enough to convince them - provided they trust the authority.
The doctrine of the trinity is for destroying healthy cognition and breaking human minds in order to plow their memes. It can't be made sense of, because it was never meant to. Just the opposite. It was made to free Christian leaders from the need to make sense.
It comes as restrictions God placed on himself. God came down to earth, took on the form of man, born of a woman, tempted by sin, and endured the same as the rest of us. Gave up his life on the cross, so those with faith could come to peace with God: when in the grave, no sin was found in him, so death had no power over him, so Jesus resurrected back to life, walked the earth for 40 days, in the flesh, then ascended back to heaven, where he and the Father are one.
Right hand is a parable for the actions of God, or the work of God, which is Jesus. All of Jesus prayers are prayers made before in the Old Testament, that witnesses of his coming.
So Jesus is not literally sitting beside another spirit in heaven? It's metaphorical.
When I go to heaven there will not be a separate God separate from Jesus. It will be one spirit.
Depends on if Peter lets me through the gates. I impaled lots of people.
Yes, as far as I understand. The Father and Son has one head, which is what Christians call the Godhead. The Father and the holy Ghost are one, not separate spirits. Jesus was in a sense separated from the Father, when he was here on earth, hence the Father and the Son.
Judgement on who is found written in the book of life, is given to Jesus though, not Peter.
