I find it amazing they planned to literally blow up the Japanese economy. The massive increasing in stock / housing / land etc parallels what has happened in many developed countries in the west. It finished with massive money printing during the pandemic. Now we are in the tightening / collapse phase.
You ride a horse maximally until it chokes, and then you move onto the next one. But even after you blow up the horse, you can use what remains. Tighter control and possibility of reuse.
China is following tightly in Japan's footsteps (give it 10 years roughly). Korea has been so far able to avoid the Japanese disease, although the signs of excess, corruption and intelligence / CB / mafia corruption control are all over the place.
This is one of the old games, and it's been running for at least as long as the Dutch East India company was formed, probably much earlier.

So they deliberately printed a tonne of money to create a huge bubble in the economy, land, stocks, real estate all exploded in value. Then they collapsed the bubble to cause the crisis ...
