Well, compared to the pancake theory and the progressive collapse theory, the zipper theory sounds a little better but…..how did the concrete still get pulverized into dust? If the zipper theory were true, then there would have been 47 box columns sticking out of the ground, twisted, bent and mangled…kinda like a bloomin onion. The thickness of the steel got progressively thicker, in the box columns, the closer to the ground it was, which, if I remember correctly, was 4” thick on the lower floors. Why were there pockets of molten steel in the basements?
