Looking back, I suspect if I had changed the country, every country would have gotten different results. Wow, it is really censored in lockstep with what the govt wants. It wasn't even a bad search, just about some diy stuff and apparently diy is bad/dangerous/censored, we must just purchase and consume. People really can't learn and discover new things in BNW google.
If I hadn't already known what I was looking for, I would never have learned anything from the google results except fearmongering and to just buy stuff. Nothing to see there.
It was a really basic search and to have only gotten 2 pages of results.. ugh. I can kind of understand because it was a topic adjacent to pharmaceutical companies.
C. 2016 is started to suck, but it's been a steady downhill for yeaes now .
Combo of Google mirrors + Yandex + Bing + Baidu is the only semi working option.
None of them alone produce enuff useful results on most censored topics .
I can't put a date on it but about ten years ago all of the search engines altogether stopped supporting the logical operators that had made them popular in the first place: + or quotes to include an exact term, and - to exclude a term. Not long after that they started showing you geolocated results that were close to you but had nothing to do with what you had searched for.
2015 at least. though I suspect due to the nature of rioting in 2012-2014 that they were already working from at least then. But they 'turned on 100%' in 2015
