Sometime in the past a segment of rats went underground and spent a few generations below the surface. This small group or groups, became genetically different from the founding population above ground. "The founder effect"
they lost there fur (because they no longer need it, temperature underground is cozy and consistent). They're eyes changed (they dont need sight in a lightless environment). Other sense drastically increased due the loss of eye sight. And most important of all, they now live 4x as long and do not get cancer and are essentially a cold blooded creature. We call these strange rodents Naked Mole-rats.
I ask you this, if this could happen in nature to one type of creature, could it happen to other ones?
