I am reminded of Lincoln's Lyceum Address, and a flip side to the words he said there:
At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.
Most everyone expected the end of the Zionist Entity would come in some sort Gog v. Magog showdown or some such thing, but if it comes--and I think it will--it'll be more along the lines laid out by Abe.
The difference and the fatal problem with Israel, of course, is that they were never freemen, but rather human shields.
