But the main idea of 'building muscle for helthh' is wrong at large. Flexibility and mobility are the only types of training with positive
carryover to longevity.
Personally i think it's the shift from in person social exchange to online, which is mediated by visuality.
So if normally you would consider all aspects of a person, his demeanor, his emotional stability and wellness, etc, now you mostly get flashes of them to judge upon and not even in person, so people resort to visual stimuli to judge each other.
I think the issue is the drugs people are taking. Most of these physiques you see on social media are simply not attainable without drugs.
