Motorcycle riding messengers. An army major led a "rebel group" in a war game and defeated the US joint operations task force with them. The results were thrown out, the major replaced and the game restarted.

I believe that happened in the 80's. I'll try to remember details so I can look for it. I believe it happened just before desert storm, it was in the middle east
