Here's my high-octane speculation: we are never going to see any high-octane UFO theatrics. That is, we're seeing about all of Project Blue Beam that we're ever going to see.
Carefully note: this is not to say that They are not going to declare global martial law or some such thing over an "alien invasion" because we all just saw Them do that by relabeling the flu as the Andromeda Strain.
All we're getting is a steady stream of obvious liars (obvious to me, anyway) with ever more outlandish narratives and (as noted) no actual evidence. It's all, "I'm from the government. Trust me, bro!" It's pathetic, really.
Further, and I think more convincing, is that just given current technology and control over mass media, if one simply opens up their imagination and fires up their creativity, one can think of numerous little "ops" that could be pulled to make even hardened disbelievers pause and say, "Hang on, is there really something going on here?" But have we seen any of that at all? Nope.
They've been unable to move the social engineering needle with this latest UFO initiative. No minds are being changed: Everyone that thought it was bullshit before still thinks so, no matter what they say on TV. Everyone that thought UFOs were real before just has more fuel piled on the fire. And a handful of the suspicious and astute now think the proportion of psyop in the UFO phenomenon is higher than they ever suspected.
