It is a bit telling that the second video clearly showed non-Black youth a part of the raid on the store. Race baiting is more important than the truth, i.e., destruction of the nuclear family and promotion of Matriarchy is a failure.
What is happening is that we have reached critical mass of single parent female headed households raising males within the Black community. In the past there was at least a network of male support. Now, we are 2-3 generations in of men raised by women. The children, particularly boys, are lost.
Men raised by women did not grow up with a check on violent behavior, examples of how to moderate anger, or how a male acts within society. The rage a young man feels isn't understood by the mother so she often manipulates, bargains, or ignores warning signs. This leaves gangs and the justice system to clean up the mess.
After destruction of the Black nuclear family, the image of what is "Black maleness" is problematic. The image of what is a "Black man" is now controlled by media which has a vested interest in presenting Black male adulthood as a one-dimensional action anti-hero stereotype glorified and commoditized to sell to the world. A 10 inch having womanizing gun toting law breaking gun toting low intelligence impulsively violent individual to be feared. Perfect for the media and prison industrial complex to profit from.
This isn't just a Black male issue. Black females raised by single women also have horrible outcomes. Teen pregnancy. Poverty. Drugs. You name it. Girls raised in these conditions suffer as well.
While the situation has had more time to metastasize in the Black community, every other community in America is experiencing a rapid rise in female headed households due to laws which promote and reward women for forcing men out of households and/or lack of reproductive responsibility. Every dysfunctional group is disproportionately made up of single parent female led households. The fact of the matter is that most women struggle to raise productive children. Particularly men.
