What sucks is knowing that I’ve bought fluoride filters for this reason. The problem is that Berkey fluoride filters leech aluminum like crazy apparently.
Lesson learned on not springing for RO filtration.
Shit, I hope our fluoride filter (not a berkey, just a large inline filter) doesn't leech anything :/ I specifically ordered the option without aluminum... need to read up more on it.
Are you going to get an RO now? We might get a full house RO, but it's like $11k for the flow rate I want to get.
Oh I currently don’t have one installed. There’s some way more knowledgeable people here on the wins than I. But, before I spend the money, I’m going to spend half a day researching it, unlike with Berkey. I read some of their filtration results and assumed the best from them. Unfortunately, it turns out they didn’t certify each particulate they claim to filter. And the certifications they Do have are apparently pretty old. It’s a big problem because raw materials change constantly and need to be re-validated in their tests.

I heard that too.. what a joke.

Yeah, these are the filters they use: https://www.usaberkeyfilters.com/blog/2022/01/berkey-pf-2-fluoride-arsenic-reduction-elements-and-activated-alumina-aluminum-oxide/
There's a lot of YT videos going over third party test results documenting INCREASED aluminum levels post-filtration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVZmZwTxnMc
