Anyone else find that strange? Are our betters trying to de-escalate political extremism or something?

It seems like two different events but made from the same source. As an initial look, it seems like the media propaganda is trying to use the worst weapons to divert attention. On the other hand, both are main players to divert the attention of the two political parties. Perhaps this is used to track the activity of online users on both news and compare them.
If you would want to see the reaction of both sides of the political spectrum by removing their leader, to see how they will act to choose their own leader, what would you do? Would you fire the two main talking heads for both parties?
Anyway, it seems suspicious for sure. Both cases have nothing to do with one another, unless the media is a big gang and their actions are united, regardless of the political affiliation. But to what end?
