Yeah same here. In the 80s in rural western NC we were given those and cups of bright pink fluoride. We were told to swallow the pink stuff because our teacher didn't want us making a mess spitting it out. I have moderate dental fluorosis and who knows how much other damage.
They used to give out chewable fluoride tablets when I was a child. I'm not sure if that's still a thing or not.
I think they were called fluoride supplements. It would be like eating lead or arsenic pills, completely insane.
