the reason 'they' win is because 'time is on their side'.
every generation, the unawakened get reset.
we don't pass much generational knowledge down, just the latest temporary bullshit.
furthermore, they work hard to make sure we fight inter-generationally and believe pop-culture more than our grandparents.
(also they keep us ignorant of any resets etc.) we also mistakenly think that we can 'win' this generation.
it would make more sense if we pass as much information as possible to next generations to have any shot at freedom.
