Gnats, squirrels and other animals dont seek what is outside of their boundaries. Taoist believe the world would be simplier if we lived and died in the village we were born in and never sought after the noises we heard outside of our village. Now that is not the world we live in but we are probably behavioral conditioned to interfere with things outside ourselves when all we merely have to do is go about our business probably how the aliens do.
