One small remark - there was no such thing as "Ukraine" nor 1000 years before Khazaria, nor diring Khazaria nor long after Khazaria. However there always was some outskirts of Rus/Russia everywhere on its borders. Word "outskirts" in ancient Russian written as "oukraina" ("ѹкраина" where "ѹ" is single letter of ancient russian alphabet). So, there was multiple ukraines in Russia, and none was something more than just outskirts. LARPers that find mentions of word "ѹкраина" in ancient Russian texts and pose them as a proof of existing of their "Ukraine" state are just lying directly to your face. As a kind of state Ukaine was first established by Lenin in 1922 as part of future USSR and it was assembled from Malorossia and Poland regions of Russian Empire.
Do you mind explaining the last point #3? I thought the name Ukraine is from about 12th century. Kyiv probably dates back to 600 AD, but it was a fisherman's village at that time, not a country.
The reason I'm asking, the early history of the people living in the territory now called Ukraine, and during the middle ages Khazaria, prior to the middle of the 6th century, is hidden in obscurity.
this is merely an example of what the linguists call folk etymology, where currently existing semantic analogies create false assumption on word origins
This isn't the version that I can find elsewhere.
They may be pushing this narrative to hide what the sigil actually is.
As it is known to be a family crest. Maybe someone here can provide the family name, as I am not good with remembering names or blood lines.
You get it. It's the typical boomer-tier facebook crap that gets posted around here as fact. So easy to pick these things apart.
it's the trydent of Volodymyr the Great of the Rurikid dynasty
Volodymyr the Great, that means 10th century. He came to power in 969 AD (or after the death of his father 3 years later). Pretty much the end of the Khazarian Empire. The Khazars' epoch of greatness was from 600 to 950 AD. So, what's with the Khazarian Tamga, Volodymyr decided to keep it, and only slightly modify it?
there's a book on history of Ukraine sitting on my bookshelf that was opened perhaps just once when I unwrapped it from the protective foil several years ago - it most likely wouldn't answer that question, but I really need to read it regardless
The "moloch sigil" is the logo of the metal band called "Moloch" signed by Phemeral Productions.
