I think it's stupid for the car to make fake engine sounds, but it comes down to two things.
Dodge think their buyers are stupid and want fake engine sounds

Or a little bit of both.
But the reality is that if no one bought evs with fake engine sounds, they would stop making them that way. (BTW, I realize an EV should make some sound so as to not run over unsuspecting pedestrians, but that sound could be anything)
electric vehicles have been doing this for a while because they're scared ppl will get run over by a silent 2ton piece of machinery that can accelerate faster than combustion stuff.
Because in theory these could be made to emit any sound, it would be funny to hack these and make them fart loudly going down the street.
