agreed, though i doubt he's conscious of it. TPTB have all of our psychology down to an exact science. he's likely manipulated through his info sources.
SH brought up Seth Rich in '16 then supposedly backed away from it. I did a search for his retraction, didn't find them, and only found commentary that he never retracted his statements. However, if SH didn't retract his statements, he didn't do shit to follow up on one of the hugest stories in a decade.
Yeah, I remember there being a kerfuffle with Hersh over the Seth Rich story. I looked into it a little at the time and thought, "Well, that story was really pretty involved considered in it's totality and anyone can get things wrong." Being the trusting sort (at that time) I went on my way.
In hindsight, though, it fits the model for Hersh. It was and is a big story and they had to pull out one of the big guns for it. On the flip side, the next time Sy comes out with a big tale, we know They are under pressure and we should examine it very closely to see the real payload.
