The places of the explosion were in shallower waters at depths of about 200feet. That is right around the limits that a deep sea diver can do, so its not out of the question.
The navy had a dive suit capable of 2000ft for a 6 hour mission in 1997. The 260ft depth described in the recent write up is well within a trained military diver's capability, especially with specific gas mixtures in their cylinder.
I don't see how this is possible. The water is too deep and the pressure too high to go down there and destroy it.
It would take some kind of lizard person to be able to go down there.
