Spy balloons that fly at high altitude cannot simply be shot down. They can reach altitudes of up to 50 km. No plane can get there, no satellite can shoot them from above.
So this thing is not what they claim it to be. It is most likely a test run for initiating an EMP attack on the grid. They got caught red-handed and are now playing the "China" card.
For a rocket there simply is not enough air to create thrust against at such a high altitude. Only balloons can reach 50km or above. They had to wait for it to come lower before they where able to shot it down.
Wtf am I reading? That's not how rockets work. Rockets work fine in vacuum.
