It was his administration's policy position. He is a politician so who knows/cares what he personally thinks.

In 2008, just 15 years ago, every single DemoKKKrat presidential candidate claimed they were opposed to gay marriage.
Just 15 years later, every sellout Republican is FOR gay marriage.
