So there's pretty good evidence for underground bases but this seems a little far fetched. Agree about the alien stuff being a distraction. Find the "nuclear powered laser that can drill 7 miles a day" to be incredulous. No secret such as that could be kept. There'd be laser tech all over the military industrial complex.
