TL:DR: I’m on the fence when it comes to Dr. Peterson and would like to hear your opinions on him and your reasonings for holding them.
I began to take an interest in Jordan Peterson following his now infamous college speech video when he talks about freedom of speech and bill C16.
Watching the majority of his lectures it seemed that the man spoke a great deal of sense concerning morality, personal responsibility, archetypal characters, meaning and the dangers and pressing threats of totalitarianism. I bought 12 Rules For Life and continued to follow his path (interviews, talks, channel etc) closely up until his disappearance. I wouldn’t have called myself partisan, but the message from Dr. Peterson seemed generally worth listening to.
With that being said I cannot help but notice a shift since he returned from his absence a while ago. Something definitely feels, and continues to feel different about the mans' presentation, demeanor and choise of topic of discussio - however I cannot quite put my finger on what it is and why I feel it. More recent videos and interviews aren't the "same" and I couldn’t remove the feeling that his second book 12 More Rules was only an effort to capitalise on the success of his previous publication rather than a means of trying to help people, so I abstained from buying it.
Many videos featuring Dr. Peterson now appear to be a part of an increasingly common trend on social media of content creators highlighting how bad things are, and how they are going to get much much worse. The irony of this of course being that these people are usually incredibly financially secure and will likely be unaffected by the hardships that will cripple the layman who they preach to. Regardless of the intent behind it, such content often makes people feel more isolated, scared and hopeless. Is this deliberate? I don't know, it may be a consequence of being increasingly well known and an attempt to keep views coming in (as people love doom scrolling). It seems like he has taken a leaf out of the Russel Brand "Grift-n-Go" playbook. Regardless, it is a stark contrast to Dr. Peterson's older content where advice was presented on how to counter pressing issues and build oneself up.
Plus, the fact that he has gone from being cancelled and banned to blue checkmark, verified and recommended on multiple social media sights is also somewhat of a red flag to me. It seems to be a paradigm shift in the powers’ that be’s approach toward him.
Has he been bought? Threatened? Is this subversion? OR has the current state of the world made me look too deeply to find issues that don’t exist? I don’t know.
TLDR (again): I’m not really sure where I stand when it comes to Dr.Peterson, a great deal of what he says still resonates strongly with me, but there is an ever growing feeling of distrust and doubt in my mind as to his motive and intent. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
Note: I am not a hater. In the beginning I listened to his work and shared with friends.
--‐-------- Another point to consider is his background.
I can confirm from personal experiences that even grade school and high school trachers can be communists. More than you think. They seem normal, super nice and then after knowing them you find out...
I can also confirm that almost all university professors are somewhere on the communist - champagne socialist spectrum.
As in, they have discreet meetings where they discuss things and network. They are literally the nicest people I have ever met. I would never have thought they were socialists with discreet meetings spreading around. They seem smart and normal and kind. Their discreet meetings are spreading. They even have presentations on stuff like furries and feel really bad and empathic towards them. Which I guess is ok on an individual level , not sure about societal.
Like I said these people are very kind and easy to be around. They are people you want as friends. Very helpful to each other. Unlike the conservatives and trads lol. Conservatives are individualistic, out for themselves and don't have the same group support and kindness. They don't have regular meetings with guest speakers, educating themselves amd networking.
Now, Peterson worked at Harvard or Yale i forget. One of those. He is connected with McMaster which did the the mkuktra experiments to unwitting patients. They destroyed lives. This is confirmed because of lawsuits. Not a conspiracy. So that is interesting, he also worked at U of Toronto. They are crazy liberal. How could he have taught there long? Unless....
If you go to professors homes, you might/ likely be greated with walls plastered with Mao, Castro etc. These are people that seem totally normal on the outside.
Coincidentally, Peterson has the same aesthetic in his home. With a giant print of Stalin (ok it might have been Mao, I could be mixing up professors interior commie pics lol).
These pictures are always huge!
Take a look at the symbolism in his home. Where he relaxes. Why would he really have that there? He gave a lame excuse.
I saw a very similar vibe to other professors.
So, I don't know when he changed or exactly why. But his house made me question him even more.
I really don't understand how he could have stayed teaching at such liberal places. For a variety of reasons.
Now, you have to remember, when he first gained fame and was crying on camera, he was getting $100,000 + per month just on patron. Not including book sales, speakering fees, donations, etc. And he is getting invites from big wigs
I think at first he was legit but once he saw the amount of money rolling in.... money corrupts. Or maybe his daughter saw dollar signs.
And then they were pushing the carnivore diet.. which is ok.... his daughter basically runs his business, he has even said. So she is a big factor in this and influence on him.
I don't know if his sudden conversion to God is legit. It might be some audience marketing thing.
But I don't have anything against him and his early work was good normie level++ content. He even, I think, got young men motivated (in a cult like way lol).
He lost my trust when he did the fluff shows instead of the worldwide serious liberty and rule of law issues.
Something about his illness in Russia was weird. I know people who were reprogrammed there.
And of course he worked with/networked with UN people. He developed some stuff for them. Maybe it was all on the level. But maybe people made friends with him and kept in touch.
I dunno, sometimes I wonder if his daughter is his mkultra'd handler. Probably not. But she does control his business and influence his life/diet. And the wife..... hmmm.
