You shouldn't read the bible like you would a billboard.......You'd be amazed by how even the chapters and verse numbers of the Bible have special meaning....not just the words.... even though they were added later on. In the old testament which was written in Hebrew.....each letter has a symbol, and a number and they have meaning too. In fact the first line of the bible establishes the end. No need to be condescending..... Child sacrifice was fairly common with the Sumerians and Babylonians. As well as some other disgusting practices....not exactly shinning lights of virtue....I'm sure they were capable of lying just like our own historians....(how accurate have they been?). Some of what they wrote does line up with the Bible.....they use different names (well similar)....because that's how names translate sometimes.....You're free to believe what you want.....For me I would rather trust Jesus's version of history first and then see how much of their writings line up with the Truth. But that's all I have to say about this.....
