YSK there's currently a YSK on Reddit about the rules for blood donations having changed recently. And, even after that poor baby died of blood clots due to vaccine contaminated blood, those weren't the changes that were made. The modifications were mostly changes in the waiting from 12 months down to 3 months in the, " at risk" categories. Why YSK? It's going to encourage more people to donate blood contaminated with blood clots.

If you read that thread, pay attention to the verbiage, " gay fear", " homophobia". The screening for potentially infected donors known as a high risk population takes a backseat to politics for some people.
Here's a link to a well written comment explaining screenings :
Just a warning, the Red Cross is so pushy I told them I died so they would stop calling me. It was an odd conversation to be told how sweet, and funny I was... But, they stopped calling me!
They sell it to the local hospitals. I donated to myself on time. I donated before a surgery, and I just answered the questions without an second thought. The day of surgery comes, and I requested non blood alternatives. They came back to me, and told me the blood had my name on it!
