The book of James reads alot like Dead Sea Scrolls a more zealous against the world teaching Jesus himself made a whip for the money changers. I believe the sects got killed of that werent as compromising and what was left were the docile ones . The book of Maccabees 1-2 describe a people standing up to a world system contrary to Gods Word they fought back to defend themselves, which is what I take the turn the cheek to mean. To stand in defiance
That's probably my biggest problem with the New Testament. Turn the cheek? Pray for my enemies while they execute me and my family?
It's like the new testament teaches me to go against my very own primal instinct to survive and instead be a willing sacrifice, turn the cheek, pray for my enemies, etc.
But the God of the Old Testament helps the Jews take vengeance.
Whats interesting I found is during the Bar Kokhba rebellion the Messianic Natsrim sect (Jesus followers) did not join because the leader of the revolt claimed to be the messiah. They would've joined but they couldn't follow a false messiah and they would've won, Israel barely lost if i remember correct. Israel was looking for God to fight for/with them while they were in Rebellion while their leaders the Sanhedrin welcomed the Greek-Roman rule they removed themselves from under Gods authority I believe thats what Jesus was speaking on.
In the Bible Daniel and the three were in foreign land and the whim of the foreign leader they stayed true to God and excepted the consequences under threat of death. Same as the early church assembly in Rome under Pagan government they had to take it. Buuuut when a system of Governance is established under God as Israel was(the American Founders placed the Bible over the Constitution) . the people under God fought strong in defense against the worlds attacks to preserve themselves as a light under God.
I'm not convinced most of the founders of the Constitution were Christian. If they were, there's definitely been an agenda to cover it up. I do not recall, reading texts written by forefathers of the USA Constitution, that Jesus Christ is explicitly mentioned often.
Hamilton was against the prayer haha I dont like him he was pro bank and he sent people out and bought the war veterans bonds right before they were paid out.
I believe its a big cover up they pictured christianity when they said religious freedom not other religions. The marines were formed to combat Muslim pirates they read the koran at the time in wonderment of why the attacks. Muslims werent allowed in until more 1965 immigration reform haha.
Is there a non-YouTube version of this with the audio not censored to the point of incomprehensibility?
I like his doubledown attitude .. needed so badly ESPECIALLY with Christians these days with their 'TURN thy Cheek' excuses

It's something i struggle with as a Christian.
I am the LORD; I change not” (Malachi 3:6)
