This is a book i got maybe ten years ago. Takes time to do all the exercises. And then increases the time of practice 15-1hr. Over three stages each stage is about a year of training. 15-30-1hr. (This is simple explanation) they have you do tai chi before and some circular movements like your moving hands over water. You then stand feet shoulder length apart. Hands above like your hands and forearms are pushing against a wall. Next feet turn left with hands infront as if resting on a table. Then same but to the right and then center. The training is to advance and later hang a tissue from a thread from the ceiling and use your chi to move it. By pointing your first two fingers at it. Extending your chi from the ground into your body and out finger. Eventually developing to be able to snuff out a flame of a candle and then increase the distance. I was doing it for some time on stage one. For 1hr a day 3 months 4 exercises before life and work interfered. I have trained in chi development through tai chi and other internal arts. It just takes practice and can pick it up not from beginning but where you left off. Also chi is engaged by tucking tai bone, dropping your chin, hollowing out your chest/ rounding out your back, relax shoulders and drop your elbows like holding a barrel. (Horse stance) Test it by having a friend push on your forearms. If it collapses the chi is not there on the outside of your arms. Keep arms rounded and dont let elbows go past 90 degrees or it will collapse: also sit in a horse with your toes and knees pointing in. Knees out help resist pressure from the side. Energy comes up from the ground through legs up to the junction box in your back and out through your finger tips.
Zhengsong fu is the creator of Fu style and was the best martial artist of his time. Fu wing Fei is his son and the father of one of my masters Victor Fu he has videos you can watch or buy DVD. His father also trained Bow Sim Mark who is the mother of Donnie yen. His mom is in his wiki. These styles engage chi in all their movements which make them so powerful after doing tai chi for 5 hours under victor my trap muscles were burning due to constant engagement. This is why bruce lee had such big traps. I also study wing chun under larry saccoia who was under duncan leung who trained under ip man.

Is any of it .... received energy? Like, the master has to bless the apprentice? Qi gong has been the most effective energy system I've worked with thus far. This looks interesting.
No blessings from the master. Ive worked with some high level masters and they have never mentioned anything about blessings from a master not to say that doesnt happen. What i have understood is that those masters who were selective in the past did not have their art survive because they could never “find” a person in who to part the teachings. Now a days or at least since the 70’s the saying is “Many talk, few do.” Took me ten years to get 1 black belt in ninjitsu and mastery is ten black belts and there are ten mastery levels. I have seen plenty of people come and go. Mastery five is avoiding a live blade attack from behind and 10 is catching an arrow being shot from a japanese bow with both hands straight on. Takes a lot of spiritual training that our societies dont offer us time to engage in so you get it where you can. I hope you find the time in your own life to develop the spirit. We will surely need it in the coming times and at the end of life. We are all burdened with desires. Even the desire to have no desire is still a desire so have the desire to be of service in that we will always be working on the spirit and removing obstacles infront of others.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve shared in this thread

truly insightful and beautiful.
If you ever feel inclined, I’d love to see you share at c/HumanPotential , which is just a place I made to try to act as a repository for this kind of information.
According to what I’ve seen (there is a slightly longer version of this video available, with subtitles), these tests are the “graduation exam” to leave level one and begin level 2 of the school, Mo Pai.
Because an individual does not fuse Yin and Yang energy within their body until level 4 (and thus cannot project their chi outside of their body), what is happening is that Chang is producing a thick field of Yin energy into which the student can project some of their accumulated (through the level 1 exercise) Yang energy.
So in a sense both master and student are part of what you see in this clip
