Russia didn’t do anything to itself merely by invading Ukraine. Their birth rate has been falling for a century and their population has been falling since the fall of the Soviet Union. That’s just what happens to communist and post-communist nations. The exact same thing happened to every member of the Warsaw Pact and every formerly Soviet state.
