Russia is a post soviet corrupt shithole. The have record high rates of drug addicts, a declining birth rate worse than Americas, and record high abortions. This war is going to be way worse for them in every way than Iraq was for us. They have like no Allie’s while the entire world sees Ukraine as a victim and is doing everything they can other than boots on the ground to help them.
Also, Putin has sent troops into very brutal wars since his first day in office starting with Chechnya in 1999, so Russia framing this war as some sort of move against woke tranny globalism just seems opportunistic and manipulative. Russia is very crafty of doing this thing where to the right they project this message of standing up to globalism in Ukraine, while they also send this message to the left that they are standing up to US fascist capitalist NATO imperialism.
I think this war is just going to end with Russia rotting further, millions of Normal Ukranian families killed, homeless or reduced to refugees, and a bunch of Ukranian Oligarchs will spread out across the west and nothing will happen to them.
Yeah Putin should have just declared the two eastern separatist parts of Ukraine now part of Russia, sent troops there and then waited. That is what he has been doing historically and it always worked in his favor. I’m guessing he maybe got too cocky.
