Ukraine is much worse at population collapse. Mostly due to implementing all insane western policies after 2014 to "become west" and "join EU".
Interesting, that people on Ukraine really wanted "Shengen zone", to have an ability to freely travel and work in Europe, not joining EU with all that woke and economic shit. However, only visa-free to Poland was achieved few years ago (2019, IIRC).
Up to that moment huge amount of male Ukraine citizens work in Russia. Even me often hired Ukrainins for different backyard and construction jobs. Ukrainians, being really Russians, certainly much smarter and do the job much better than Tajiks and even Moldavians. AFAIK, only IT business in Ukraine was relatively profitable and allowed to feed family because of low taxes for IT business. That changed in 2014 too, "to adjust tax inequality". And, of course, that was not lowering taxes for other industries.
So, from mid-90s to 2019 with great rise in 2014, a lot of men from Ukraine most time lived and worked in Russia, so couldn't make children at home. This noticeably damaged birth rate in Ukraine ialong with all that woke and economic EU demands.
Really it could help, because in Russia a lot of things implemented to somehow fix that problem. And it is really works for some extent. From free baby formula for every newborn Russian citizen to what is named "maternity capital" - family support targeted payment, 0.5M RUR (~$8k) for first child and 0.7M RUR (~$11k) for the second. That money could be spent on realty, education and some other purposes. In most places you could buy apartment from ~1.5M. Also it is possible to pay mortgage in full ahead of schedule if family have one, so family will not only become free from debt, but also save a tons of money not paying bank interest for future decade or more.
So, people of Ukraine will get same support as Russian citizens. Really, I'm in doubt that all Ukraine will be taken, at least now. Odessa, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, even Kiev and Chernigov - may be. West Ukraine - hardly. Too much tensions between West and East/South Ukraine was created since 2014, so it will not be wise to mix that sides in one state. Annexed regions already getting all that state help.
There could be interesting turn, however. If we are right and NWO really destroying Europe using Ukraine-Russia war, and If Russian authorities somehow will avoid any serious fuckups with economy, then, with some probability, life in Europe could become noticeably worse than in Russia. At least here should be no problems with fuel, heat, water, food and work. So, all that Ukrainians began to love Russia and hate EU, just like they love EU and hate Russia now. And they could easily refernd to join Russia.
Really, I'll not be happy if all that Ukrainians, who, after USSR fall, quickly tricked themselves that they are absolutely "NotRussians", complete opposites of Russians, in the silly hope that they be somehow become welcomed on the West for that, those who build all ideology and society just on a single idea of hating Russians and everything Russian and nothing more, suddenly will switch to Russian patriots and West haters. I don't want to hate West and especially Western people. But they shurely will, just like they hate Russia and Russians now.
