The truth about rice is that most people don't rinse the rice of excess starch. Washing the rice before cooking reduces starch intake. Steaming rice helps more.

Wife is Asian. She detests government and has not taken a single clot shot.

4'11", 105lbs. is extremely healthy.

We eat sticky Jasmine rice.

Was wondering why our son in law taught us to rinse it so well. He didn’t know why- just said wash it until it runs clear. I remember asking him why and he said he didn’t know- that’s just how his mom does it. (She is maybe 5’ 95lbs. Still very healthy and good looking!)

Now ya know!

Wash that rice before cooking!

Use a rice cooker as well, not a standard boiler.

Once the cooker finishes, fluff the rice before serving up.

We use the rice cooker. A Wolfgang Puck to be exact. Got it for like $3 on clearance, now I couldn’t live w/o it. The youngest one- who is just now leaning to cook- has told me more than once I wasn’t rinsing the rice until clear- like I was taught. It’s funny.

And I like the jasmine rice, especially with fish…. I don’t know why. But have used it for fried rice before, too- more than once. Depends on which one has the rice scoop, and which one I don’t have move stuff to get to in the pantry.

Some really old dude was looking for rice for rice pudding in the grocery store. (Blech.). He asked what kind and with my super limited experience with rice….. I said maybe try the jasmine, it’s skinnier and lighter and from I can imagine about rice pudding…. seems like a safe bet.

Always wondered how that turned out.
