The datura use is real, I have followed this topic for decades. Datura contains scopalamine, a hypnotic drug. It renders victims completely compliant and can wipe memory too, similar to roofies. Yes, the CIA uses it and yes, it is used by some in Hollywood. There was actually an article about it many decades ago (4) in the Wall Street Journal identifying that the CIA has it in its tool kit.

Datura is used in South America on victims, where it as powder gets blown in someone's face and rapidly puts them under control. Victims are then robbed or worse.

Its use in the film industry is known but it is not employed all over. It is too easy to kill someone with an overdose.
