VERY weird story. A bunch of people who you’ve probably heard of separately (Parsons, Hubbard, Crowley, Etc) getting together to perform sex magic rituals, which sound like they may have had some effect (a red haired woman appeared at their door out of nowhere, and she went on to marry one of them)
Parsons was the mastermind behind the working. Hubbard was more his homeless live-in guest tagging along. My assumption is Hubbard was used by some agency as a front man. The whole "scientology" thing is basically watered down Theosophy.
Though flying saucers were around before the "Babylon working" is often credited with kicking off the modern craze of sightings. Here's some interesting reading.
