2 step verification, conceptually, is leaps and bounds more secure than a simple password, especially when the average user re-uses passwords. It requires the attacker to have both your pw and access to your pw device.
Unfortunately sms is not remotely secure, especially from feds thanks to the patriot act. A random number generator which uses time to generate a code that uses the same seed as the login server is much more secure, as this requires physical access to the number generator.
Fun Fact: When EA's SWTOR launched, they actually sold a keychain that did exactly this.
I understand that it's a pain in the ass and annoying. But in these days of fraud methods, its extra steps do protect people. Why is that needed? Here's an example. Chinese hackers hid code in an image from the James Webb space telescope. The code steals ID info from your system and then the hackers can grab your bank account. But when you have 2FA authentication, the hackers don't have your actual phone so they can't complete the authentication.
The world is headed for 2FA all over, but annoying as it is, it can protect you from losing all your money.
You really should crop your screen shots.
you should also quit drinkin and go to bed lol.
No phones.
Tell them to eff off
Next no email either.
Next no Internet either.
Reverse their advancement
Holy shit, people still use Winamp?
