Let’s say a 70 year pattern, fastest mode of travel:

1800: Horse*
1870: Locomotive
1940: Rocket
2010: Still rocket …

WTF happened? I have my suspicions, but I need to shore up my information when discussing with sheep.

*I know steam engines were around, but not widespread.

As a science major in college, you might take one survey course that touches on special relativity and quantum physics. If your degree is in physics, you might take one upper division course in general relativity.

Realize that these fundamental developments are already about a century old.
