If crickets were a good and compatible food source for humans, we would have learned to eat them as kids. Just like picking berries in the woods.
I saw a documentary on Hornets a while back and was surprised to learn that hornets dismember the bugs they capture and only take the flight musculature in the thorax back to the hive to eat. They know enough to throw away the head, abdomen and legs. Don’t be dumber than a hornet.
