Yesh ... the hell with eating liver. It's the garbage dump of the body. Organ meat in general can fuck right off.
See my reply to user KiloRomeo above. You'll end up malnourished unless you're eating sufficient plant sources/supplements too. In mother nature, carnivorous animals fight for organ meat for a reason.
Liver is not a FILTER, and it does NOT store toxins. It is a metabolic organ of body that processes the toxins for excretion.
This is also shown in the literature.
Yes, if you eat tons of liver or organ meats from cattle near mining operations, then you might get heavy metal accumulation. The same applies also for fish higher up in the food chain.
However, plants from same areas, esp. plant protein sources (like pea protein and rice protein isolates) have much higher amount of toxic heavy metals per usable gram of complete amino acids.
If you can only eat wild game meat and organs from pristine nature, go ahead.
But don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
