There is that one "bad apple" in every photo op.
"I'm an actress. I'm inspired to act like I know what I'm doing."
Reminds me of Spanish flu photos.
The “iron lungs” really were commonly used though, right? Basically, they were oxygen chambers I think?
But I get your point — that this publicity photo was easily sold in the 1950’s, and today most people are just as unquestioning.
