I've always wondered why they didn't make sci-fi movies with aliens based on the insane, repellent things bugs and fungi and microbes actually get up to. It's wilder and more horrifying than anything I've seen on the big screen.

The best Dan O'Bannon came up with was face-huggers and chest-bursters, which seem pretty mild in comparison to the real world.
