Apparently it takes 1.25 seconds for a photon from the earth to reach the moon. I'm not a scientist but wouldn't it take a lot of power to send that signal through the atmosphere, protective radiation belts and firmament while retaining signal integrity and quality? And on top of that sending signals back through all of that mess while directing it to a specific location?
