His decision doesn't count unless he had informed consent. It sounds like he consented without information, which I suspect they deliberately withheld from him (because that's how all of this works). Once he found out the potential side effects they didn't mention, he was rightly pissed off.
It's the doctor's responsibility to provide the patient with the risks and benefits of the treatment, and then after the patient has had time to chew on that information, the patient has a right to accept or reject the treatment. In nearly every case, all over the world, they're just jabbin' and stabbin' with very little information trading hands.
When I was a teen back in the 90s, I was required to take a handful of vaccines for my college scholarship (had to live on campus). My mom never trusted doctors and I remember her asking the doctor if there were any side effects to the vaccines. He gave her some bullshit brochure saying they were amazing. She insisted there must be something more detailed. He said no, she will be fine. I wasn't. I nearly died. She asked him again and got crazy insistent. He gave her the inserts and then marked in the scheduling system that we were no longer to be seen there. She was so livid but there was nothing we could do.
I still live with the consequences but she and I will never take a vaccine and we do not vaccinate our cats. Vaccines do not work as they say and can certainly do more harm than good.
Thanks for your story and sorry that this happened to you.
Every anti-vaxxer is actually a former vaxxer with a story to tell. Nobody woke up one day hating vaccines for no reason, as the media would have you believe.
It's not "informed consumption", dumbass. The doctor must tell you about the medicine they are trying to give you, warts and all. Every doctor on earth, except the ones getting canceled, are doing it wrong and putting people in danger. I'm not saying it kills everyone, I'm saying the risk of harm must be recognized.
