Not simply entertainment. It's a lightning rod to redirect energy, very useful. But one thing we know about lightning rods, they direct the bolt away from the fragile, expensive bits.
IF Q is an NWO distraction then you can guarantee whatever Q points toward, a) it is robustly defended from the heat, and b) not the lynchpin of the Operation.
Q disables the 4chanonymous hackfags with a false rabbit-hole in exchange for possibly losing the leg of their table which bears the least weight.
