If the many ignore the perceivable ongoing system (living within the process of dying); then the few can exploit their ignorance at will by for example suggesting them on vs off states.

In other words...those who ignore self sustenance (need) within perceivable will be exploited by independence (want) vs dependence (not want) over suggested. In return for consent to suggested (want) over perceived (need); those suggesting gain the power to bait and switch; to control supply and demand; to define; redefine; and contradict values; to parasitically exploit the host weakness of ignorance.
