I remember way back when I was a kid they sent people to fingerprint us sometime back in the 80s. I refused because I associated fingerprinting with criminals. I threw a fit saying I wasn't a criminal and they just could not convince me to do it. They called my mom because I threatened to bite them if they came near me (I was a brat when I made up my mind over something). She got pissed and left work to come talk to them (she was not mad at me). They were doing this without her permission and I will never forget what she said to them - 'you just want to be able to identify her dead body when you fail at keeping her safe.' I realized that that was actually what it was about and I know where I got my distrust of authority from.
