They killed the elites, political dissidents, and religious leaders. Then they forced farmers to smelt their tools for building metal. Next, they parceled small amounts of farmlands to uneducated and underprepared workers while demanding an unattainable yield relinquished to the state.

The Russian Revolution is fascinating.
