I’ve thought on this too. The lower level (usually middle class or poor) ppl do the “good work”, “pay dues” to help blind people, homeless, elderly..while the large and exceedingly rich organizations (ie. lions) collect and hoard their money (dues and fees), then the states/govts make collecting donations to actually help fund actual well meaning functions nearly impossible, caps, taxes etc. Reminds me of the “Removing the salt from the earth” parable.
